Bloom {Into Beautiful}

Hello & welcome to Bloom! First off, I wanted to kind of tell ya'll about the name. The name came from a message that I gave at a friend's Bible Study a few months ago. That message was completely and totally from God. His hand was in that from even before she started the Bible study. So, anyway, I'll hush up and give ya the message!

My dear friend came up to me one night after Bible Study and pretty much said that she felt God leading her to ask me to speak in TWO WEEKS. I was, of course, mortified. However, I hesitated a bit, but I agreed to lead the Bible Study two weeks from that day. So, when I got in my car to go home, I was like, "God, what am I supposed to talk on? I have no idea what in the world to talk to these young women about! I've been teaching YOUTH GROUP for two years... not WOMEN! I can't do this."
Of course, God shows me that I CAN do this... With Him! He simply speaks to me and says, "Bloom."
I was like... What?? Bloom? What is this supposed to mean? Then, He simply says, "Open your Bible."
I open my Bible while at a redlight and on a tiny piece of paper I had written the words, "Bloom Into Beautiful" I was floored. Tears started rolling down my face... I couldn't handle it. Three months prior to this, God had woke me up in the middle of the night and spoke those words to me. At the time, I didn't understand why... So I wrote them down and put them in my Bible. Pretty awesome, right? After the amazing confirmation from God that I was called to speak that night... months ago... I began praying and seeking for the rest of the words. Here they are...

My emphasis in this message is growing in your spiritual life. I looked up the process of how a flower grows... from a seed to full bloom. Now, I'm not going to bore you and go over all of that, but I was amazed at how similar it is to us growing as Christians.

Just like a seed is planted for the flower to begin life... A seed is planted in our hearts when we get saved. In other words, we develop a root in Christianity.

We begin to change our way of thinking and there is a significant change on the inside. This, compared to the flower, is our primary root structure.

Now, we are mature in what we believe and can witness to others! (Our leaves reach full maturity)
Then, sparks begin to ignite outside of us! People start to notice something is different about us then how we were before "the change." In other words, flower buds begin to appear.

And then... We bloom. We bloom into something beautiful. We bloom into an on-fire for God, Christian. We love God with all of our being. This is visible to everyone around us without having to even tell them. There is something different about us. We are so beautiful... So full of life... Bursting to tell the world how great the water is that we drink from... how it gives us LIFE.

But, here's the thing, ladies. We have to continue our growth. Because if we don't, just like a rose, our beauty and life in Christ will die and fade away. We can't just go through our day and not give a single thought to God... Not speak to Him... Not read His Word... or be in His Presence. We have to water our souls with His Word and continually pray. Sometimes we have to cut away things in our lives... Like how a gardener has to take out the weeds trying to corrupt the rose.

Here is some scripture I wanted to share with ya'll...

1 Peter 3:17-18 // I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (NLT)

1 Corinthians 3:6 // I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. (NLT)

Ephesians 4:16 // God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love--Like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love. (THE MESSAGE)

Colossians 2:19 // We can grow up healthy in God only as He nourishes us. (THE MESSAGE)

1 Peter 3:4 // Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. (THE MESSAGE)

Psalm 92:12 // But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. (NLT)

Colossians 1:10 // Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. (NLT)

1 Peter 2:1-2 // So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. (NLT)

Matthew 5:48 // But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. (NLT)

We are beautiful ladies. Let’s bloom together and find this. Let’s find what beauty God has for us… Because it’s so much greater than we could ever imagine.

What's an encouraging scripture or quote that inspires you?

XOXO
