In Her Shoes

Goodmorning, ya'll!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend & rang in the new year with people you love! Today I wanted to just give a little message that's been on my heart this weekend. Stay with me, as I have no notes and am just simply writing this as it flows out.

We've all had a woman in our lives (or many) that just pushes our buttons. Am I right? Throughout the past few weeks I've had one of those ladies make a special appearance in my life. Working at a department store can be very stressful and at times makes you want to just punch someone in the face! Hah! I won't go into details, but I had a woman come in on Christmas Eve, who is a continuous customer, that simply bursted my little happy bubble. I didn't say anything rude back or punch her, even though the little devil on my shoulder was telling me to. However, the things that were running through my head and the things I said to my coworkers about her afterward were far from Christian.

As Christian women, even when someone is just downright rude or mean to us, we still need to show the LOVE of Christ. I know this is hard, oh trust me, I know! But I also believe that if we PRAY for kindness and love, that the Lord is definitely going to grant us that. My Pastor was speaking yesterday on submission to the Lord and how when we ask for something like Solomon did (wisdom) instead of fancy things or a pay raise, the Lord is pleased with us and grants us the desires of our hearts if they are of Him. I fully believe that if you find yourself in a situation like this and you pray from the bottom of your heart for the LOVE & KINDNESS of God, He will more than grant it, He will overflow you with it!

My encouragement today is... Don't let the little devil on your shoulder turn you into someone that you never wished to be. Brush him off, take a deep breath, say a prayer & smile! I know some people (like this woman) don't even want you to be nice to them because it kills them more than you being mean. However, that's their issue and you simply need to show the love of Christ and let them know that you are not going to lose to what the devil wants.

Lastly, let's not talk about other ladies when they walk away, ya'll. Until you've been in her shoes, you don't know what she might be going through. My aunt gave me that little snippet of wisdom a few days ago. For all I know, this poor woman could be going through something horrific at home. She sure doesn't need me adding to that. She needs me to pray for her, smile at her and show her Christ.

I love you all and I hope that maybe this has been just what someone needed to hear today!
Thanks for reading!
XOXO
