My Quiet Time

Hey, y'all!
Today I am sharing a small peek into what my typical quiet time looks like. I basically have to have a perfectly made bed, cozy couch or clean desk to have my quiet time. I have to have clean and organized surroundings to be able to concentrate and enjoy my time studying. If not, then all I can do is think on and look at the mess around me. Call me crazy, but that's just how it is.

When studying/reading, I also like to have a warm cup of something... Whether that be hot chocolate or coffee, a warm drink always gives me some extra pep. :) I suggest always having a beverage or snack while studying. I'm pretty sure it's been proven to help?? Maybe? Hah, who knows?!

I am always reading like 5 million things at once, which is why I LOVE having a notebook to write my thoughts down for each individual reading. I will usually date the first page and then write a title above my notes with each individual reading. A highlighter and pen are a must for me when in my quiet time. I love to highlight the scripture that sticks out to me, as well as anything in the book/devotional I am reading at that time.

Right now, I am reading Jesus Is by Judah Smith and doing a few studies on apps via my iPhone. So far, I am loving Jesus Is... If you didn't already know from my snaps. (mrsmcqueen12) I will also be doing an app review on Wednesday of the First 5 app made by Proverbs 31 Ministries.
It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

I will sometimes play some worship music softly in the background while I study and pray... it just depends on my mood that day to be honest. All in all, this is a crucial part of my day and if I don't do it in the mornings... I feel like crap the rest of the day. I feel like making your personal time with God the first part of your day always helps clear your mind and prepare you for what the day holds. Even if unexpected things come along, you will be reminded to turn to Him instead of someone/something else. Thank you for reading and have an awesome day!
