Hey y'all!

Do you ever wonder what is the proper attire for a southern wedding? It can sometimes seem like you either have nothing in your closet or you don't know what color to wear. I know I've been there a few times and today I'm sharing what I've learned with you!

Rule #1 is, of course, do not wear white! Everyone knows this is the bride's color and is completely off limits! When I see someone wearing white to a wedding, I literally cringe, because how can you not know that rule? It's like, the rules of feminism, duh! (I know that probably didn't fit here... but Mean Girls ;))

Rule #2 is do not match the bridal party unless you're in it! The bridal party is set aside for the bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents of the couple, and any other people who the bride has selected for the bridal party. Playing off of the color scheme of the wedding is wonderful but don't show up looking like you belong in that wedding party when you don't.

Rule #3 is to dress with a little modesty in mind. You don't want to bring attention away from the bride and wearing something where either your top or bottom is falling out will not please the bride. It's her day and we should be pouring all of the love and attention to her not yourself.

This dress from Sea Salt & Honey Boutique is my summer wedding dress! It fits all of the rules unless the bridal party is wearing coral! ;) I'm also loving this dress from them for weddings (or showers) as well! Be sure to hop over to their shop and see all of their great new arrivals!
