How I Pray Every Day

Hey girl,

Prayer is something that has always been so important to me. Spending that time pouring my heart out to the Lord is the best part of my morning routine! Today I’m sharing my prayer journal and how I go about filling it out with you.

I have used this six month prayer journal from Val Marie Paper for years! I love how she lays everything out for you! Everything is completely blank so you can start these any month of the year. Let’s dig in!

The first page each month is all about our world & nation and your community. I always think on the biggest needs in our world, nation, our leaders, and current events. For the community section, I focus a lot on needs of our church, in our neighborhood, and our city.

The second page of each month is all about your loves and your family. These sections are so special to me because I always want to be praying big prayers over them. The loves section is always focused on my husband, our future children and their spouses, and my biggest passions in the Lord. For the family section, I pray specific prayers I know that my close family members need the Lord to meet at the time.

The third page of each month is focused on your friends, people you know need the Lord, and the heavy things on your heart. I always send out a text each month to my close friends asking what they need prayer on and pray over that. For the salvation section, I pray for those I know have not accepted Christ in their life but also pray that I can be a light to them. The heavy is where I place prayers for the Lord to help me forgive any hurts I have or for those hard to love.

The fourth page each month is all about your personal prayer needs. I usually write down goals, needs, and fears I want to lay at the Lord’s feet. He’s the best listener and He can move the mountains!

The fifth page has three blank sections. I fill these with prayers my Instagram babes need - which usually fills up most of the page - and over flowing needs from family/friends. I will sometime use these for specific areas in our life that we need multiple prayers answered.

The sixth page has a place for your to write out scripture to pray over for the month and a quote to reflect on as well. I love to pray scripture and learned a lot about this from Lauren Mitchell. She has an amazing book called Steadfast that touches on this!

Lastly, there is a page to document answered prayers each month. This is so special for me to look over and reflect on how much the Lord has done in our lives! He answers prayer, sister!

I use this to remember the needs and then I pray over them either quietly to the Lord or aloud if alone. You can take this anywhere - on a walk outside, to your church prayer meeting, the grocery store… just get those prayers spoken, girlfriend! He is listening and He cares for you!
